One of my all time pet hates is lies and I just hate being lied to and the only thing I hate more than this is myself if I  have lied to someone else! There are three things that I dislike about being deceived by another; The lie The lying  The liar If only your pants could spontaneously combust when caught in a lie.... it would be a great deterrent and make it so much easier to spot a liar! From an early age I learned to make my own decisions. This was initially not through choice but by necessity as I was the oldest of four children who were brought up by a single mother who had no time for added pressures and woes or any interest in the petty problems that as children we were facing as she had enough on her plate raising the four of us alone whilst consumed with hatred for our father who she divorced when he allegedly had an affair with her niece (her sisters daughter who would babysit us). Not only could I not burden her further with my issues, I had to step up and help her with hers by taking the pressure off by assisting her to raise my younger siblings which meant dealing with their day to day problems rather than my mother having to! For many people the idea of being in control of their own lives and making changes is a frightening concept and so they prefer to do nothing believing that they will remain the same. One of the biggest eye openers for me in life was learning that it was healthy to have and express negative feelings and emotions! Anger, sadness, hurt and even fear! Not only did I deny these emotions in myself but I was also of the opinion that it was wrong for others to express them. Believing in a whole lot of things that I had heard or been taught along the way such as; 'Laugh and the world laughs with you, cry and you cry alone!' Over the years I have learned  a lot about people and how you can see who they really are! Many people are not what they claim to be especially those that have to constantly make statements claiming they are who they  say they are, which says to me, that's not what you are! 'What you see is what you get!' 'I'm straight up!' 'I say it as it is!' 'You can trust me, I'm honest!' You know the type! It's the first thing they tell you on meeting them... by the  third, fourth fifth time you can be sure that you will definitely remember them for it but it has the reverse effect and by the end of your first encounter, the doubts have crept in as to their sincerity as if they really are as they keep claiming to be then why do they feel the need to convince me of it! We all have them! Some high, some low and some that are just right! A set of values and personal standards (even self imposed or inherited rules) that are used by us in our day to day living of life. Your behaviours reflect your personal expectations of yourself. Also the way you treat others and the way you treat yourself are all based on your own personal values and standards whether you're aware of them consciously or unconsciously. Perhaps you have not thought too deeply before about what values and standards are personally important to you to live life by but I am guessing you have probably had expectations of others in their treatment of you! No doubt there have been times when you have felt let down, hurt, disappointed and even angry by the behavior of others because it did not meet your expectations... Is that not a good reason for you taking the time to get your personal values and standards in order? Being clear about the values and standards you hold dea...

Life is beautiful! But not all the time... I have had my fair share of times floating on air like I am dancing in a meadow of flowers on a summer's day, feeling blessed and like the luckiest person in the world... ..then it starts to piss down with rain, there's nowhere to take shelter in a field full of fucking  flowers that it appears now have been harbouring a  whole host of mosquitoes, ticks and other nasty things that are now biting me to death! Blessed? Lucky? Really!!! It's those times when I have to refer to my list of philosophies to keep me sane. A warm welcome to my blog about life in general; My life has been varied, with times of extreme elation and periods of intense darkness! Years of success and living the high life and years of failing and destitution! I have travelled the world and lived in many different places which has given me the opportunity to meet a multitude of people from many walks of life.
